Down the coast into New Hampshire

This was a pretty quiet day....partly because we only had 100 miles to travel into New Hampshire.  Tommie was up early, as usual, and ready to get started before 8:00 am, but I reminded him that most campgrounds have check-in and check-out times, so we can't get there too early.  I held him off until around 9 and called the campground office who said they didn't charge for early arrivals, but their checkout time isn't until 3 pm...which is pretty late for a campground!  We got there around 11:30 and our site was still occupied, so we had to stay in an open field and run the generator for a couple of hours to stay cool.  Oh, well, it needed running anyway!

This is a really nice campground with sites that are mostly wooded.  There are lots of seasonal campers, but they are nicely set up.  The road to the campground has some really big, nice homes on it.  The address is in North Hampton, NH, and Exeter is just down the road the other way.

We wanted to look around, so drove down to Newburyport, MA and also did a little shopping.  We stopped by Applecrest Farm Orchard and bought some apples, peaches and a frozen chicken pot pie.  The meat pie we bought in Cape Breton was really good, so we thought we'd try another one.  The trees are heavy with apples, and they said they grow the peaches there!!

Tomorrow is whale-watching day!  Keep your fingers crossed for us!  The weather is supposed to be good.
