Yellowstone: day 1 - Grizzlys, Bison, & Old Faithful
We had a very full day in Yellowstone. I won't write much since it's very late, and we're heading out early tomorrow for another day there.
We did the lower loop with Pat and Kirk, our friends from Florida. We've been here twice before and it was their first time, but we hit the jackpot with wildlife! We had been in the park for less than a half hour when we came upon some cars stopped beside a mother grizzly and her two cubs. We pulled over and had a wonderful view of them! I opened my sun roof and stood on my seat to get pictures. What a great use of sun roof! They roamed around for a while and the cubs were running around their mother. I'm posting two photos and links to two Youtube videos. We also saw quite a few bison and some elk.
We stopped at Old Faithful and ate lunch while we waited for the eruption. We toured West Thumb Thermal Basin, Norris Basin, and quite a few smaller ones.
