We pretty much did most of what we can do in the Teton Park yesterday, so today was more relaxed. We drove back up to Jackson, and this time took Route 22 through Wilson, over the Teton Pass, and turned around in Victor to head back. The road is VERY steep with long 10% grades!
After we got back over the pass, we drove into Teton Village, which consists of big condo units and very nice homes up the side of the mountain. Apparently, it's another big ski resort. Then, we headed back into the park on the west side and merged into the same main road we covered yesterday. We saw a few elk in a field, and then another loner right beside the road. There are huge herds of elk around here in the winter, but they are supposed to head up into higher elevations in the summer, so it was unusual to see these.
We stopped by an old cabin which has been maintained and an old general store which is beside the place where a man set up a ferry across the Snake River and charged people to use it to cross.
We stopped at the Jackson/Greater Yellowstone Visitor Center, which has wonderful wildlife displays. After that, we rode into Jackson a bit and walked around the square for a few minutes. It's extremely crowded and caters to lots of tourists.
