Moab to Durango

It was drizzling when we got up and it was much cooler.  We left Moab and drove back down to Monticello and headed east into Colorado.  The landscape got greener, and some of it even looked like North Carolina countryside!  Some of the clouds looked pretty threatening, but we never traveled in any more than a sprinkle.

Soon after we got set up at our campground, it started raining in earnest, and kept it up most of the afternoon.  We drove into town and checked out the Durango & Silverton Railroad.  It has been in continuous operation since 1882 and runs 45 miles through the San Juan Mountains.   The views are supposed to be spectacular!  We bought tickets for Sunday, since it's supposed to be rainy tomorrow, too.  (Plus, there's a 20% off coupon for Sunday!)  It's a round-trip ticket, and we'll spend a couple of hours in Silverton.  We'll be gone from 8:00AM till 6:00PM, so hope the dogs will be OK in the motorhome.  The train goes through the middle of this campground, so we've already had views of it.

We picked up dinner at Zia's Taqueria, which does fresh, fast-food Mexican.  It's sort of like Subway where you tell them all your toppings.  It was by far the best Mexican food I've ever had!

We've got the heat on tonight!  We've been running both A/C units for the past week!
