Hot day in Montana!

I think it was hotter here today than in North Carolina, which has been having a real heat wave!  I saw 102 degrees on my car dash this afternoon!

We didn't have much on our agenda today except for trying to stay cool.  We did a little shopping in the morning, and then went to the Moss Mansion in Billings to take the 1:00 PM tour.  We had a great guide who had grown up a few blocks from the house, so has a real attachment to it.  It was finished in 1903 by P.B. Moss for his family.  He was a businessman who was involved in many aspects of early Billings.  We were not allowed to take pictures inside, so only have photos of the outside.  The house was lived in by members of the Moss family until 1984, and nothing has ever been changed since the original family lived in it.

In the afternoon we drove to a couple of city parks, but between the heat, the mosquitoes, and the threat of rattlesnakes, we barely got out of the car.  There is a rim of rock cliffs around one side of the city, so we drove there for some pictures.

Tomorrow, we'll be off to Custer, South Dakota.

We didn't really need to go into that park!
