There was a heavy fog when we got up, so we first went to the visitor center. We asked about the recent rain, and they got about an inch the night before we got here. This year, they have already had double their annual rainfall, so everything is much greener than normal. The heavy rain does have some effect on the formations, and it's estimated that in another 500,000 years this will all be flat!
We stopped at the other end of the park to watch a group of bighorn sheep walking and hopping all along the cliffs. We finally saw a male with the curly horns.
We rode through the park again and at the other end continued into Wall, South Dakota. We've been in their massive "drugstore" several times before, so didn't stay long. We got gas in town, along with several hundred motorcycle riders. They are everywhere in town and in the park!
We drove back to the end of the park where we are staying and then drove through the ""town" of Interior which is the address of this campground.
