Wedding

The wedding was held at Parson's Garden near Kerry Park, which has a magnificent view of Seattle.  There were about 25 people there.  Besides our families (Yuka's from Japan and us from Durham and San Francisco), there was a childhood friend of Yuka's who lives in Zimbabwe, a woman who knew her as a pre-schooler who now lives in Switzerland, Alan's high school friends from Durham and Nashville, and some other friends from Seattle and San Francisco.  So, it was a well-traveled group!

They used a harpist for music, which was wonderful.  Baxter and Brucie were attendants and did a very nice job!  Baxter wore a pillow with the "rings" attached, and both had black satin "vests" and pink bow ties.

The reception was held in the community room on the 18th floor of their condo complex.  It has a big outside area with glass below the railings so the view is not obstructed.  We really had a nice time meeting their Seattle friends and Yuka's friends.  The wedding coordinator did an outstanding job!

Near the end, we brought the dogs back into the reception area and unleashed them and they had a wonderful time running around.  At least, they got rid of some energy!

Alan and Yuka have left for their honeymoon in Hawaii and everyone else has gone home…except for us, of course!

  4. Beautiful photos! I can't believe my former dog walker, back in his high school days, is now a married man. Thanks Ann for letting me share through this great blog. Congratulations Alan and Yuka and to all the proud parents, not to mention the ring bearers.
