Wisconsin Dells

We had a terrific thunderstorm during the night.  It was raining buckets, and the lightning was almost constant for about an hour.  Both dogs were scared!

We packed up slowly, since we only had a few miles down I-90 to our campground in Wisconsin Dells.  We got there early, but the campsite they had assigned to us was empty.  Unfortunately, the power post was a long way from the pad, so we had to look for another site.  This is a strangely laid-out campground!  It's like they put water and power sources in random places.

We finally got settled and went into the town to look around and go to the visitor center.  This place reminds us of Gatlinburg or Niagara Falls...lots of tourist attractions and things for kids to do.  There are lots of waterparks.  We took the Riverwalk to look down the Wisconsin River and see some of the boats.  There are lots of tour boats here, and we'll probably take one tomorrow or Wednesday.

We drove back up to Mauston to the cheese factory store which wasn't open when we were there yesterday.  We bought some cheese curds which are fresh and squeaky!

Another thunderstorm passed through, and we're expecting more tonight.

Pearl takes a bath several times a day....every time I change her water!
She looks pitiful when she's wet!
