We woke up at 5AM to a terrific thunder rain, and wind storm. The awning was madly flapping, and although we had it tied down, we were afraid it would take off! Our neighbors in a tent stayed dry, but had their shelter blow down. There was a little wind damage on the display field.
Pat and I went into town to do some laundry, and there were lots of people heading in with wet sleeping bags and pillows. There's a rock concert across the highway, and many of those folks are camping in tents.
We wanted to go into the display area, but more severe storms were predicted, so we stayed close to the camper. Fortunately, they did not materialize. Lots more camping units are arriving and are setting up around us.
When we were at the laundromat, I picked up a visitor guide that said you could request a visit to the training site for Operation Migration's whooping cranes. It's only about 30 miles from here, so I called and set up a visit on Thursday. We have to be there at 5:45 AM!
We had a hot dog dinner with Pat & Kirk and our Canadian friend, Doug.
