Heading across South Dakota

We left Wall pretty early and hit I-90 to head east.  There was a little more Badlands-type terrain, and then it flattened out to just fields.   We crossed the Missouri River and stopped at a rest stop on the east side that had a nice view.  We saw some road signs on the ground and some crop damage, so they must have had some recent really bad storms.

We stopped in mid-afternoon at a campground in Salem, SD, where we stayed two years ago on our way out west.  It's not far from the huge metal statue that you can see from the interstate, so we went to see the "Porter Sculpture Park", which is a collection of weird metal things and figures out in a field.
