We spent most of the day with our friends Pat and Kirk, roaming around the town of Wisconsin Dells. We looked in some of the many shops and also took the 2-hour boat ride through the upper Dells (the part above the dam.) There are a lot of rock formations on the banks of the Wisconsin River, and our tour guide gave us some history about the lumber industry there and then how it became a tourist attraction. There were two places where the boat docked, and we took walks. One went through "Witches Gulch" and the other was to "Stand Rock".
There are a number of different boat tours of the upper and lower Dells, plus much of the town is covered in theme-park attractions and water parks.
