We started our day by heading back toward Sturgeon Bay, which is the largest town in Door County. On the way, we took a side road out to Cave Point County Park, which has bluffs overlooking clear blue-green water. There were kayakers paddling by, and a group of teenagers jumping about 20 feet into the water. We didn't go far down the path because of all the poison ivy!
We went into Sturgeon Bay for a little shopping (cherries!), and then toured the Door County Maritime Museum, which has exhibits on boat-building (which is a big industry in the town), lighthouses and their keepers, and "sea dogs", which tells the story of both working dogs and dogs who were ship mascots. And, since we were so close, we stopped by the other, larger store of Renard's cheese.
We drove through Egg Harbor and back to the campground. After dinner, we drove around Bailey's Harbor, and saw the full moon over Anclam Park.
