We are heading to Oshkosh, Wisconsin for the air show and will then roam around for a couple of weeks before we end up in the NC mountains for the eclipse.
There have been some changes in our traveling companions. We lost Brucie last September, and our rescue Boston, Zoe, has joined us. She's great in the motorhome. Baxter can't play very well anymore due to his vestibular disease, which has made huge changes in the way he can function. He still wants to play frisbee, but has a hard time finding it. And we have to carry him in and out of the motorhome, since he can't manage steps at all. And, my new pet mouse, Penney, is making her inaugural journey.
This year we decided to start out on a different route. We drove through Boone and then stayed on highway 421 through Mountain City. THAT was an adventure! The mountain road was as curvy as any we have ever been on! We were probably crazy to take it in a 33-foot motorhome towing a car! Plus, they were re-paving some of it and we met a dump truck on a curve. Talk about a rush!
We are camping at Levi Jackson State Park near London, KY.
