Air Venture - Day One

We got to the gate just as the show opened and walked to the Warbird area.  We took the free narrated tour through the warbird area, although there were quite a few empty spaces for airplanes.  They will probably all be full later today.  We stopped and listened to a discussion on a special Spitfire airplane from the RAF that has been restored.  It is an actual combat veteran from 1942.

We were able to go into the B-25 bomber that is owned by the EAA.  I crawled in to the tail gunner position and took pictures from there!

We came back to the motorhome for some lunch and then went back to go through some of the exhibit hangars.  We spent some time in Boeing Square, the center of the show, where they have a massive B-52 and a B-1B parked along with other aircraft.
