Winnebago Voyage: Last night out!

We wanted to see the US Air Force Museum in Dayton, OH, and couldn't find a campground anywhere near it, so we left our Indiana campground in the morning, drove the hour to the museum, and parked the RV in their large lot. They direct oversized vehicles to the end of the lot, and an attendant drove us back to the building. We left the dogs in there with the generator and A/C running. The museum is huge with six large sections and several smaller ones. We mainly spent our time in the Early Flight and WWII sections. They also have sections on the Korean and Viet Nam Wars and Space Exploration. They have the B-36, B-2, B-1, Twin Mustang, plus aircraft from Germany and Japan. You could easily spend a couple of days in there if you read many of the signs. They have lots of personal stories with pictures and mementoes from servicemen, which are really special. We spent about four hours there before starting on our way home.

We rode through some rain and then through Charleston, WV, and down the WV Turnpike. There just aren’t many campgrounds in the upper half of West Virginia! We picked a state park called Camp Creek which is a couple of miles off I-77, and it was gorgeous! They have nice paved sites with power, and our pull-through was beside a little mountain stream. There was green grass (but too wet for Frisbee) and a nice bathroom. This was a wonderful site for our last night on the trip!
