A day in San Francisco

Wow!  Are we tired!

We got up early so we could catch the 8:20 ferry to the city.  It's only a 12-minute walk to the Larkspur terminal so that wasn't hard.  Before we left. we closed all the curtains in the motorhome so the dogs wouldn't be looking out and barking.

The ferry ride was fun!  They are the high-speed catamarans and you don't really feel the speed. Almost everyone else was a commuter and they were all sitting there working on their phones while I snapped pictures all the way!  There was blue sky when we left the terminal, but we rode into the fog as we got to the city.  I took more pictures on the way back in the afternoon and they have blue sky, so are much better.

We walked around some with Sally since Bennett had work to finish.  We had made reservations for an "Architecture tour" of San Francisco, so all four of us met the group in a hotel lobby and walked around the financial district.  The leader gave a fascinating history of the city and its buildings!  We learned lots of neat facts, and found ourselves noticing other buildings after it was over.

We picked up lunch at an authentic taco place and then headed down to the wharf.  I loved watching the sea lions on the floats.  Some of them kept pushing each other off into the water.  We walked around Ghiradelli Square and then got a taxi back to Bennett & Sally's apartment.  We were all exhausted after walking for miles!

Tommie and I managed to get back onto the right ferry for the ride back to the campground.  The dogs were fine after 11 hours by themselves.

New camera!  My 3-year-old camera has a few scratches on the lens, so last weekend I ordered a new one from Amazon and had it delivered to Bennett.  I think it will be easier to use, and it has a 12X optical lens.

This was really our ferry on the way back,
but I didn't get a picture of the first one.
Inside the ferry...
nice seats!

Golden Gate Bridge in the fog.
This will probably be our only view of it....
there's a HUGE music festival going on near there.
