We had booked tickets on a boat cruise around the Apostle Islands at 10:00, so headed to Bayfield after breakfast. It's only 12 miles north of our campground.
They had lots of reservations, so were taking two boats today. We got there early so we could get a seat on the top deck. As soon as we got underway, the breeze kept us cool, but we were in the sun all day. We were allowed to take a cooler of drinks and some snacks. The cruise is about 55 miles and takes just over three hours. There's a lot of cruising and not a whole lot to see, but our captain was a good narrator and had some stories, since he grew up here and is a 4th generation native to the area. The most interesting formations were on Devils Island where there is a lighthouse and lots of sandstone caves that were carved out by the water and ice.
The repair to the refrigerator hinge worked for a little while, but then broke again. Tommie is trying another J-B Weld repair, and we'll see how it holds tomorrow. We will head for Duluth tomorrow, but only have reservations for one night since they were booked for the weekend. If the fridge gives us too much problem, we'll start home after that.
